resale makeover

If you are like most resale store operators, you love your job, you believe in frugal living, you believe resale is the wave of the future and you are struggling to figure out how to thrive as a resale shop owner or operator.  You have a deep desire to see your shop make a difference in the lives of your shoppers and provide the resources you need to keep it going and provide for your family.  But you are tired of doing it alone and working 70-80 hours a week just to keep the business afloat.

I know how you feel.

One of the ways that I’ve learned how to thrive in other areas of my life has been to journey through tough times with friends.  There’s so much strength in knowing that you are not alone.  There’s also a new level of confidence when you hear from folks who have walked your path before and found tools that help them cope with the challenges you face.

That’s what we do.

That’s what Resale Makeover is all about… folks journeying together through the challenges of resale.

In my six years of owning and operating a furniture consignment shop, the greatest lesson I’ve learned is that I have to be a business leader first and a resale shop owner second.  Without sound business principles behind my shop, it will never reach it’s full potential.

It has taken an intentionality from me to seek out help in how to turn my mom and pop resale store into a viable business that can support my family and the families of the folks who work alongside me each day.

I want to share some of these tools with you in a response of gratitude to those who have helped me along the way and in return I want to learn from your experience in the field of resale.

Resale Makeover

Our site is divided into four sections:

  • Personal Makeover   (because success ALWAYS starts with the leader)
  • Business Makeover  (because sound business principles create sound businesses)
  • Shop Makeover         (because that’s where the magic happens)
  • People Makeover      (because they are an extension of your passion and vision)

Browse around and take a peek at some of the principles and tools I’ve discovered which have helped New Leaf Consignment Galleries become a successful furniture consignment store. And then, add some content of your own!

You’re Part of the Team!

As you discover some of our resources, make sure to be more than a consumer.  We love contributors!

The best way to do that is to comment on posts and take part in the Q&A.  The Q&A is a question and answer community where we can share ideas and solutions to common problems. It should be fun! Also, if you would like to write a post for the blog, email me here!

But first you have to register…

We want you to share what you’ve learned with the Resale Makeover community.  We are better as a learning community!

Now, go check out the site and join the team.
