How to clean leather is a question we bump up against often in our day to day interaction at New Leaf.

Deb McGonagle, our friend and POS provider over at Traxia (click to visit), emailed us a recipe for a DIY leather cleaner.

Thanks Deb, I’m sure our readers thank you as well!

If you are considering selling one of your leather pieces at New Leaf or if you just want to soften it up for yourself, this “recipe” will be of value.

How to Clean Leather

I thought you would enjoy this easy-to-make leather cleaner from everyday household products. Cleaner, softer leather sells faster and who doesn’t want to save money on cleaning products! Here’s the recipe:

  • 1/4 cup Olive Oil
  • 1/2 cup Regular White Vinegar
  • Spray Bottle

Mix ingredients thoroughly in the spray bottle.  Spray a small amount on the leather and wipe with a clean cotton cloth. You can also add a few drops of essential scented oils if you prefer.

* Note: this is not to be used on suede
